‘Order Cancelled’: Flipkart users allege ‘misleading’ iPhone 16 offers in Big Billion Days sale

Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2025 sale has run into trouble as customers report widespread cancellations and delays of smartphone orders — particularly the iPhone 16. The smartphone was advertised at a special price of Rs 52,999 in the Flipkart Big Billion Day sale. Despite completing payments, many buyers found their orders either abruptly cancelled or stuck in processing, sparking outrage on social media.
Buyers frustrated over cancellations
The cancellations have frustrated thousands of shoppers who rushed to book iPhone 16 units at the discounted price. In several cases, Flipkart cited reasons like “payment failure” or “stock unavailability,” though customers insist payments had been processed successfully. Shoppers on X (formerly Twitter) accused Flipkart of using iPhone discounts as a “bait” to draw traffic, only to cancel orders later. Hashtags like #FlipkartScam and #BigBillionDayScam began trending, with screenshots of cancelled orders and refund delays circulating widely. Some users even alleged that refunds were being held back, calling the practice unfair during a high-volume festive sale.“Big Billion Day = Big Fraud! 🚨Product reach my location and cancel..I ordered an iPhone 16 on @Flipkart during #BigBillionDays but today my order got cancelled WITHOUT any reason. This is clearly scam,” wrote one user on X. “Ordered iPhone 16 on #FlipkartBigBillionDay. Flipkart cancelled saying ‘lost in transit’ & now wants me to reorder at a HIGHER price. It’s YOUR liability to provide replacement at the ordered price. Clear,” said another.“Placed an order for iPhone 16 Pro on @Flipkart during Big Billion Days, got order confirmation, and then it was cancelled. Flipkart is running scams in the name of sales,” complained a third.Similar complaints have surfaced for other smartphone brands, with users alleging the platform promoted deals it could not fulfil.
Flipkart yet to respond
While a handful of customers reported successful deliveries, the majority are still awaiting clarity. Flipkart has not issued a formal explanation, leaving buyers questioning the transparency of its festive sale offers.
