Knife attack in Karnataka: 5 stabbed during Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations | Hubballi News
BELAGAVI: Five people were injured when miscreants went on a rampage during Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in Belagavi, police said on Sunday. The attack took place near Laxmi Complex in Sadashivanagar, as the procession was underway. The assailants reportedly stabbed five people indiscriminately before fleeing the scene. Police said two of the injured sustained serious injuries. All five were admitted to BIMS Hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident and suspect that outsiders may have carried out the attack. The injured have been identified as Gurunath Vakkund, Sachin Kamble, Lokesh Betageri, Mahesh Vinayak, and Nazir Pathan, all residents of Nehru Nagar. City Police Commissioner Bhushan G. Borase and senior officials visited BIMS Hospital following the attack. Police have launched an investigation to trace the attackers and ascertain the motive.
